Since 1983, the Frys.com Open has been played on three to four courses. In 1992, the tournament moved to TPC Summerlin, and in 2001, TPC Las Vegas was added to the rotation. Since 1992, Jim Furyk has won three titles (1995, '98, '99). Fans at the 1996 Frys.com Open witnessed a Tiger Woods milestone. Four strokes behind after three rounds, Woods closed with a 64 to force Davis Love III into a playoff, then parred the first extra hole to win his first PGA TOUR title.
2006: Matteson hits jackpot
LAS VEGAS -- If his first victory on TOUR wasn't special enough, rookie Troy Matteson had his brother caddying for him and celebrating right by his side at the Frys.com Open in Las Vegas. The leading money-winner on the Nationwide Tour in 2005 won by one shot over Daniel Chopra and Ben Crane at the TPC Summerlin.
