Gary Player – TPC Jasna Polana Architect

During a prolific professional career spanning 50 years, South African native Gary Player distinguished himself as one of the greatest players of all time – winning nine majors on both the PGA TOUR and Senior Tour; the South African Open a record 13 times; the Australian Open a record seven times; and becoming the only player ever to win all four majors on both the PGA TOUR and Senior Tours. Among his innumerable achievements, Player won tournaments in 28 consecutive years, was one of only three players and the only “modern day” player to win the British Open Championship in three different decades, and holds the all-time record for the most consecutive cuts at the Masters with 23.

Renowned around the world as the “Black Knight,” Mr. Fitness and the International Ambassador of Golf, Player is also one of the world’s most acclaimed golf course designers. Since the early 1980’s, Gary Player Design has created more than 250 outstanding golf courses in 35 countries on five continents. Player’s design philosophy focuses on combining modern technology with traditional design principles to create unique courses that provide enjoyment for players of all abilities, while protecting existing ecosystems and promoting environmental stewardship.
