Welcome to TPC Colorado
The PGA TOUR’s TPC Network, together with owner and developer Heron Lakes Investments, LLC, announce the groundbreaking of TPC Colorado, the state’s first ground-up golf course development in nearly 10 years.
Featuring sweeping majestic views of the Rocky Mountains and nestled alongside the sparkling blue waters of Lonetree, McNeil and Welch Reservoirs, the 800-acre golf community will encompass a master-planned residential neighborhood, an 18-hole championship golf course and clubhouse, a community center, pool, fitness facility and a dynamic lakefront gathering locale.
“We’re thrilled to finally announce the construction of TPC Colorado which has been a highly anticipated project from everyone involved,” said PGA TOUR Chief Operating Officer of Golf Course Properties Jim Triola. “There hasn’t been a TPC course built from the ground up since we opened TPC San Antonio in 2010, so it’s a true testament to the returned desire for golf course communities.”
TPC Colorado is currently scheduled to debut in 2018 under the TPC banner.
Golf Course at TPC Colorado
TPC Colorado’s championship golf course is designed by Arthur Schaupeter Golf Course Architects and, as with all TPC courses, will be built with the infrastructure to accommodate a professional tournament. While the course can be stretched out to over 7,900 yards long to provide a challenging round of golf to the TOUR players, multiple large tees on each hole will give recreational golfers an opportunity to play the course at any length they find enjoyable, ranging from 4,000 yards up to 7,600 yards.
TPC Colorado is being designed to put the golf and the fun in players’ hands, giving them multiple options of play to discover on each hole and the opportunity to always play to their own strengths and desires, challenging for birdies where they feel confident and playing safely where they need.
The par-72 layout will take players on a full tour of the wonderful site with a combination of short and long holes. Holes playing from elevated ridges with spectacular panoramic views of Long’s Peak and the entire Front Range will make it very obvious to golfers they are at TPC Colorado, while the holes laid out along the beautiful shorelines of the large reservoirs with their stacked-sod pot bunkers and fescue-lined fairways will give golfers a sense of the Scottish heritage of the sport.

Providing something for everyone, other leisure amenities will include: the community club with resort-style pool complex, wellness center, kids’ club and stone oven pizzas at the café. Situated on McNeil Reservoir will be the beach club with a sand beach, paddleboards and kayaks, and the arts and crafts studio where residents and guests of all ages will learn new pursuits like painting, fly tying, quilting, jewelry making and more. Upholding the PGA TOUR’s commitment to environmental excellence and sustainability at its golf courses, TPC Colorado will join the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program, putting operation plans in place that practice sound environmental management.
Fairways will blend with the area’s natural terrain, reducing the environmental impact and allowing golfers to grow acquainted with the area’s varied ecosystems. Further enhancing the project, over 90 acres of land have been donated to the Town of Berthoud for permanent open space and recreation, and over 40 acres were dedicated to a partnership that includes: Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO), a statewide organization committed to preserving and enhancing the state’s wildlife and native habitat, the Town of Berthoud, City of Loveland, Larimer County, and Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
GOCO, the Town of Berthoud, and Larimer County will work to protect the Great Blue Heron population on site – one of the largest heron rookeries in the state.
