TPC Sawgrass Golf in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL
As the world headquarters of professional golf, the golf courses at TPC Sawgrass offer an unparalleled experience. If you are headed to Florida for a golf vacation, TPC Sawgrass boasts two immaculately-maintained golf courses, both designed by the legendary Pete Dye.
THE PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass was built in 1980 to host their first tournament in 1982, THE PLAYERS Championship. As the first true “Stadium Course,” the golf course was designed to improve the overall on-site fan experience. This championship-caliber golf course is accessible to all golf fans.
Working with renowned golf course architect Pete Dye, Commissioner Deane Beman created a course design that favored no particular player or style of play. The result is a truly balanced golf course. Players find a selection of short, medium and long holes within the categories of par-3s, par-4s and par-5s; both right and left doglegs; and a course routing laid out so no two consecutive holes ever play in the same direction. With its signature island green, the 17th hole is one of the most widely-recognized golf holes in the world. This legendary golf course has captured the imagination of golf fans all over the world and is consistently named among the top golf courses worldwide.
Dye’s Valley Course was designed by Pete Dye, with assistance from Bobby Weed and player consultant Jerry Pate. Opened in 1987, Dye’s Valley Course was the host of the Web.com Tour Championship for several years. It has had its share of legends competing on its fairways – having hosted prestigious events like the Senior Players Championship, the NFL Golf Classic, and the final stage of Senior Qualifying School.
