Sustainability Initiatives

at TPC Sawgrass

KEEP OUR GREENS… GREEN

With nearly a thousand members, over three hundred employees, and hundreds of guests using our facility daily, we generate a lot of waste. Much of it can be recycled, so we partnered with Waste Management in 2019 to help us solve this problem. Part of the plan was to start recycling our daily use of single-use plastics, glass, paper, and aluminum.  Being kinder to our environment really comes down to the choices we make as consumers of the products we use.

With that, we have eliminated all plastic water bottles that are put on golf carts each day. Instead of using plastic water bottles, we are encouraging members and guests to bring their own water bottle, and we are also excited to offer special, co-branded Tervis bottles in the golf shop for purchase for $10.

The net proceeds from the Tervis water bottles will benefit the St. Johns Riverkeeper, a local nonprofit dedicated to maintaining the health of the St. Johns River through education and advocacy. You can read more about their efforts below.

This initiative will reduce the number of water bottles we are putting into the environment by 300,000 annually here at TPC Sawgrass! To help with this program, we have installed 16 new Elkay refrigerated and filtered bottle fillers around the property over the last few months. They are located at each Comfort Station, each Tournament Restroom (on Stadium), and outside the Golf Shop and Performance Center.

The success of our sustainability program relies upon all of us at the Club!
