WEBB SIMPSON: I like it because you have to think your way around this golf course. Other courses that we play, you don’t think. You hit driver and you hit it as far as you can.This golf course has doglegs, run-outs, bunkers. You really do have to think. I typically enjoy playing courses where you can hit driver, 3-wood, 5-wood on a lot of these holes.
JORDAN SPIETH: It’s fantastic out here…. I feel very comfortable on this grainy Bermuda grass around the greens. I like the way the bent grass greens putt.
RICKIE FOWLER: I made my professional debut here on the tour. Lived here for a year when I first turned pro just up the street actually, so definitely happy to be back.
AARON WISE: Bunch of good memories here for this to be a place I live. I love this golf course. It’s always been a big part of me being here, and it’s pretty cool to get this award here, too.
PATRICK CANTLAY: Yeah, nice to be back to a place I’ve had some success at. I like the golf course. Looking forward to another good week. .. But, you know, the golf course is good. Really suits my game, so I think hitting a bunch of fairways and taking advantage of the hole locations when they’re accessible is key around this place.
WEBB SIMPSON: Yeah, it’s great to be back. I love coming here. But I think I love this golf course because it reminds me of the course I grew up playing. You have a lot of options off the tee, and greens are undulating and fast. So I’m just comfortable here, comfortable playing this kind of golf.
KEVIN STREELMAN: That’s what makes this golf course so fun. When the winds are down and the golf course is this beautiful, you’re going to make some birdies out here.
JARROD LYLE: Yes and no. It’s nice to go out there and know you have to make birdies to be somewhat in contention this week, but it’s also nice to play golf courses where par is not a bad score. Every week is different, but I love this golf course. I think the course is in great condition, and it’s going to yield a lot of birdies this week.
ZACH JOHNSON: I love this tournament. I certainly like what Shriners does. I mean how can you not? We’re talking about kids. And then more than that, I think the golf course is very good.
BILLY HORSCHEL: Yeah, I love this event. Obviously, I’ve only played in it once, but what Shriners does with all the children and with me having my little girl, you know, I couldn’t imagine what all these families have to go through, so with Shriners being there taking care of them, I love the tournament. They do a heck of a job putting it on. I like the golf course a lot.
