TPC Harding Park Charitable Initiatives
As part of the PGA TOUR and the TPC Network, giving back to our communities has always been at the heart of TPC Harding Park–coming to life through our charitable mission of, “Together, anything’s possible.” In fact, the PGA TOUR founded the TPC Network with their philanthropic goals in mind. By providing rent-free tournament venues since 1980, the TPC Network has saved the TOUR millions of dollars –funds that have been used to increase the TOUR’s charitable donations significantly.
Our players, employees, members and guests have all enthusiastically embraced our philanthropic commitment, extending our efforts to give hundreds of thousands of dollars to our country’s most deserving organizations. The following represent just a few organizations that TPC Harding Park, the TPC Network and the PGA TOUR couldn’t be prouder to support.
The First Tee of San Francisco
The First Tee of San Francisco was founded in Spring of 2004 as part of the renovation of the Harding Park Golf Course complex. The program is a collaborative effort between TPC Harding Park, San Francisco Park and Recreation Department, and the non-profit organization The First Tee of San Francisco.
The First Tee of San Francisco is a unique youth development program that uses the sport of golf to teach students LIFE SKILLS. Values inherent to the game of golf: integrity, honesty, self-control and self-reliance are also explored both on course and in a classroom setting. Students learn to apply these values and principles to all aspects of their lives. The goal is to have each student leave the program with the self-management, goal setting, and conflict resolution skills necessary to compete and contribute in their respective communities.
