SUMMERLIN, Nev. (April, 20 2016) – TPC Summerlin, Nevada’s premier private golf club and host of the PGA TOUR’s Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, celebrates its 25th Anniversary with expanded offerings of amenities designed to enrich member experiences, including a new state-of-the-art Lifestyle Center, revitalized swimming pool and innovative programming.

Howard Hughes, the community’s “founding father,” always envisioned Summerlin as an all-encompassing community. Upholding his values, as well as those of the PGA TOUR, the goal was to broaden club activities to meet the needs of all members and their families, transitioning from a traditionally golf-centric club to a more complete lifestyle club.

Golf clubs across the country are experiencing shifts toward a more health-conscious membership. The trend became evident at TPC Summerlin as more members chose to walk their round of golf over riding. With member interests and values as the core focus, the enhancement project launched last August with the construction of the club’s new Lifestyle Center.

“Our main priority at TPC Summerlin is to make sure our members are satisfied with our programs and the quality of our amenities,” said Smith. “We noticed a transition in their desires, so we adapted. We hope these changes will benefit our current members, their families, and the Summerlin community which has graciously allowed us to grow in this way.”

The center encompasses cutting edge fitness training machines and programs geared to members of all ages, ranging everywhere from sport centric classes focused in tennis and golf to general fitness for the everyday workout warrior. This new health-centric focus will be reflected in all facets of club programming, as is evident with the addition of nutrition planning opportunities and personalized fitness consultations.

In addition to the expanded fitness offerings, the project also aimed to provide amenities and programming geared towards members’ entire families. A variety of family-friendly poolside enhancements were added, including Ping-Pong tables, foosball and an 18-foot TV screen for movie nights under the stars. There is also a new family pool, featuring spraying fountains and a dual-sided waterslide, bordered by nine new Las Vegas-style cabanas, each with power, data, cable hookups and lush furnishings to keep parents comfortable while their children play. Poolside food service is also available to members, with farm-fresh menu options perfect for hot summer days in the Nevada sun.

To accompany TPC Summerlin’s new amenities, the club now offers a special “Sports Membership.” This membership option gives individuals access to the Lifestyle Center, tennis courts, including the new course that was built during renovations, clubhouse dining, social events, general fitness space and the pool. Additionally, the club will have childcare options five days a week at the Kids Zone, as well as on-duty lifeguards to ensure members are able to engage in clubhouse activities worry-free.

New amenities and programming will be celebrated in collaboration with the 25th Anniversary at the Lifestyle Center’s Grand Opening on May 18, 2016. At the event, there will also be a special ceremony for members who have been with the club since opening in 1991.

Named by Golf Digest magazine as “One of America’s Best Golf Courses” and by Nevada Business Magazine as the “#1 Private Golf Course in Nevada” (2006), TPC Summerlin and its championship layout continue to redefine the private golf club membership experience in Las Vegas. TPC Summerlin’s PGA TOUR layout was carved from rugged desert terrain by renowned golf course architect Bobby Weed, with Fuzzy Zoeller serving as Player Consultant. The course meanders through arroyos and canyons, with lush bentgrass greens, striking flora, numerous water features and an abundance of honey mesquite and pine trees contrasting with undisturbed desert washes and other raw landscape features. TPC Summerlin members and guests test their skills on the same layout where some of the world’s best golfers compete each October at the PGA TOUR’s Shriners Hospital for Children Open.
