LAS VEGAS – Oct. 5, 2022 – TPC Summerlin, a private 18-hole golf course located just minutes from the famed Las Vegas Strip and host to the PGA TOUR’s Shriners Children’s Open, announces the completion of a renovation to further enhance its award-winning facility.

The renovation at TPC Summerlin, part of the TPC Network (owned, operated and licensed by the PGA TOUR), consisted of a re-grass of all fairways and greens to newer, improved varieties. TPC Summerlin’s original fairways were made up of the originally planted 419 hybrid Bermuda. The fairways received a newer variety of Bermuda called Bandera. This variety is known for its aggressive growth habit and early spring green up and fall color retention. Its aggressive style will lend itself to faster divot recovery and improved wear tolerance, offering a more uniform experience for play.  In addition to the fairways, the project re-grassed all Bentgrass greens to an improved variety called Dominator. Dominator is a blend of two high-quality Bentgrasses selected for its proven performance in warmer climates and its exceptional density and texture, providing superior ball roll characteristics.

Along with the course, TPC Summerlin’s patio received a complete refresh, improving the functionality of the clubhouse – opening up the overall space and expanding dining seating for up to approximately 60 members. Other enhancements include all-new dining and patio furniture, including lounge seating for approximately 34 members; a 1,700 square-foot shade with operable mechanical louvers, allowing for views of the course; an outdoor speaker system; two outdoor televisions; low-profile outdoor heaters; and propane fire pits – all covered by a shaded pergola.

“This renovation was crucial to uphold our standard as the host of the Shriners Children’s Open. We’re beyond pleased with the changes and look forward to witnessing the enhanced playing experience every day for our members and at the upcoming tournament.” said Brian Hawthorne, general manager at TPC Summerlin.

Named by Golf Digest as “One of America’s Best Golf Courses,” TPC Summerlin and its championship layout continue to redefine the private golf club membership experience in Las Vegas. The par-72, 7,243-yard golf course’s layout was carved from a magnificent swath of rugged desert terrain by renowned golf course architect Bobby Weed and player consultant Fuzzy Zoeller, and the course  meanders through arroyos and canyons, with striking flora, water features to help the club be efficient with its use of water, an abundance of honey mesquite and pine trees contrasting dramatically with undisturbed desert washes – creating one of the most visually stunning tests of golf in Nevada. TPC Summerlin’s golf, amenities and exceptional member benefits make it one of the most coveted private clubs in Nevada, where members enjoy a sense of community, camaraderie and belonging that come with participation in exclusive members-only golf and social events throughout the year.
