Opening Day July 18th, 1925

Opening Day July 18th, 1925:Harding Park officially opened to the public, offering San Francisco a stunning new municipal golf course designed to make championship-level golf accessible to all.

HPGC formed

HPGC formed: The Harding Park Golf Club (HPGC) was founded to foster a strong golfing community and support amateur play at San Francisco’s newest public course.

USGA Public Links

USGA Public Links: Harding Park hosted the USGA Public Links Championship, showcasing the nation’s top amateur talent and cementing its reputation as one of the premier municipal courses in the country.

San Francisco Victory Open – January

San Francisco Victory Open – January: Harding Park hosted the San Francisco Victory Open, a wartime PGA Tour event that brought top professionals together to boost morale and support the World War II effort.

USGA Public Links: Harding Park once again hosted the USGA Public Links Championship, reinforcing its legacy as a premier venue for the nation’s top amateur golfers.

1961 Lucky International

1961 Lucky International: The inaugural Lucky International Open teed off at Harding Park, attracting top PGA Tour players and adding a new chapter to the course’s growing professional legacy. The first-ever Lucky International Open at Harding Park was won by Mike Souchak.

1962 Lucky International

1962 Lucky International: Gene Littler captured the title at the Lucky International Open, marking one of his many standout victories on the PGA Tour.

1963 Lucky International

1963 Lucky International:Mason Rudolph claimed victory at the Lucky International Open, adding his name to the list of champions at Harding Park’s celebrated PGA Tour event.

1964 Lucky International

1964 Lucky International: Jack Burke Jr. took home the trophy at the Lucky International Open, continuing Harding Park’s tradition of hosting some of golf’s greatest champions.

1965 Lucky International

1965 Lucky International: George Archer earned his first PGA Tour victory at the Lucky International Open, launching his celebrated professional career at Harding Park.

1966 Lucky International

1966 Lucky International: Billy Casper, one of golf’s greatest, captured the Lucky International Open title at Harding Park during a dominant stretch in his Hall of Fame career.

1967 Lucky International

1967 Lucky International: Ken Venturi, a San Francisco native, thrilled the hometown crowd by winning the Lucky International Open at Harding Park.

1968 Lucky International

1968 Lucky International: In the final Lucky International Open held at Harding Park, Dick Lotz captured the title, closing out an important era in the course’s PGA Tour history.

San Francisco Open Invitational

San Francisco Open Invitational: Harding Park hosted the San Francisco Open Invitational, keeping professional tournament golf alive at the course following the end of the Lucky International Open.

Eureka Federal Savings Classic

Eureka Federal Savings Classic: Harding Park welcomed the Eureka Federal Savings Classic, reviving professional tournament golf at the course after more than a decade.

Course Used for US Open Parking

Course Used for US Open Parking: Harding Park served a supporting role during the U.S. Open at Olympic Club, with parts of the course used for event parking.

2003 Renovation

2003 Renovation: Harding Park underwent a major renovation led by architect Chris Gray and the PGA TOUR, restoring the original Willie Watson and Sam Whiting design and preparing the course for a return to championship golf.

WGC American Express

WGC American Express: The WGC-American Express Championship marked Harding Park’s comeback to elite competition, capped by Tiger Woods’ dramatic playoff victory over John Daly.

Presidents Cup

Presidents Cup: Harding Park proudly hosted the Presidents Cup, where Team USA, led by Captain Fred Couples, defeated the International Team in front of energized Bay Area crowds.

2010 Charles Schwab Cup Championship

2010 Charles Schwab Cup Championship: Harding Park welcomed the Charles Schwab Cup Championship, showcasing the game’s greatest legends as Fred Couples claimed a wire to wire victory.

2011 Charles Schwab Cup Championship

2011 Charles Schwab Cup Championship: For the second straight year, Harding Park hosted the Charles Schwab Cup Championship, where Jay Don Blake captured the title in a thrilling playoff.

2013 Charles Schwab Cup Championship

2013 Charles Schwab Cup Championship: Harding Park once again hosted the Charles Schwab Cup Championship, with Fred Couples earning his second victory at the course in dominant fashion.

WGC Cadillac Match Play

WGC Cadillac Match Play: The WGC Cadillac Match Play came to Harding Park, with Rory McIlroy winning after a strong week of competition against the world’s best.
